Description

Join the SPE-GCS Business Development Study Group (BDSG) for an in-depth, “Season Finale” look at how three successful Small, Medium, and Large Independent E&P companies have grown through Acquisitions, Drilling, and non-core Asset Divestment. Gain insights into how their strategies have evolved in the ever-changing economic and competitive scene, and as a result of emerging new resource and technology plays.

The popular format of a Business & Social Networking hour, with complimentary Hors’ D’ Oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by an hour-long program, will begin at 5:30 pm in the Mezzanine. Your BDSG colleagues will be looking forward to seeing you at this “2007 – 08 Grand Finale” affair!

Key points of interest will include M&A&D vs. E & D trends for the companies, company growth or evolution before and after the price and cost increases in recent years, and into the future. Where has the company followed the mainstream, and where have they been innovative or contrarian, and why? How have the challenges of higher costs, competition for deals and services, manpower constraints, etc affected strategy? Have new technologies and plays been instrumental in achieving success? How has the company financial and business structure changed in this new era?
