The Young Professionals SPE-GCS Board has agreed to increase the grand prize to $500 for the winner of the YP Paper Contest and extended the abstracts deadline to February 15 2008. If you want to the chance to make some extra money this is your opportunity.

Please share your knowledge, ideas, expertise, innovations, practices, case studies and visions by answering this Call for Abstracts by the SPE Young Professionals. If you are a young energy industry professional with less than 10 years experience and you have made significant contributions on a project, then we invite you to submit an abstract (300 words max) to present at the EEC. The EEC is the most highly attended conference among young professionals in SPE-GCS.
Please include your company, years in the oilfield, and contact information with your abstract. This paper contest will provide networking opportunities, as well as promote project exposure, and build presentation confidence among SPE YP members.

Abstract Acceptance Notification: February 22, 2008
The writers of the accepted abstracts will be expected to write a full paper and give a presentaiton at the Emerging Engineers Conference. The winner of the YP GCS Paper Contest will be selected based on both the final paper and their presentaiton. The winner of this, the 1st Annual YP Paper contest, will win $500 in prize money and have the opportunity to get assistance from the judges on reviewing their paper and helping for it's submission to the SPE Library.
