My favorite college memory is finishing my last final exam. I've specialized in Petrophysical Engineering my entire career. I spent 15 years with Shell, and the last 16 years with EOG Resources. I've worked on both domestic and international projects. I was a member for three years and chairman for one year of SPE's Well Logging Technical Committee. I chose to study Petroleum Engineering because of the SPE scholarship. My advice to students is to be practical in your career choice and answer these two questions: Are there jobs available in the profession you want to pursue? Does your career choice pay enough to fund the lifestyle you want to live? Pay in-state tuition for your undergraduate degree, and save your education money for graduate school. Avoid all debt.
