Interpreted strong-motion accelerograms, evaluating response on human-made or geologic structures in terms of expected response in structural design and seismic zonation. Scientists used assessed strong-motion data to understand and improve modeling of uncertainty in earthquake propagation, crustal properties, earthquake source, and hazard analysis.
Performed reviewed real-time information on earthquakes to assist early warning, damage assessment, and emergency response action. Data used for ShakeAlert Earthquake Early Warning (EEW), ShakeMap, or National Seismic Hazard Maps.
