7/20 – Present, Advanced Engineering Solutions, LLC, Houston, Texas. FOUNDER / PRINCIPAL ENGINEER. Providing engineering consulting, expert witness, mechanical design, analysis, sustaining, and new product development services.

4/18 – 5/20, National Oilwell Varco, Houston, Texas. Downhole – Wellbore Technologies. ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER. Worked on open flow and oil sealed coiled tubing (CT) motors & drilling motors. Developed the highly successful Series 48C CT motors, & the Series 44 CT motors. Provided engineering support to Manufacturing, QA/QC, worldwide Operations, Sales and Marketing. Performed root cause analysis (RCA) of repeated Mandrel upper thread galling on the 8” Series 40 drilling motor, and developed a $12 part that eliminated the galling saving one district alone $1M annually. Activities include R&D, sustaining, lab testing, NCR dispositions, field trials, Engineering Bulletins, Service Quality Alerts, prototype inventory, tech support, service manuals, calculations & analysis, FEA, Solidworks models, & Teamcenter.

4/17 – 4/18, Self Employed, Houston, Texas. ENGINEERING CONSULTANT. Provided engineering support to oil & gas services companies. This includes engineering analysis, strength calculations, new product development, failure analysis, and Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales tech support.

8/15 – 4/17, Drilling Tools International, Houston, Texas. DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING & TECH SERVICES. Reported to the CEO. Managed contract engineers, designers and drafters. Developed complete Engineering, QA/QC, and Manufacturing documentation, and provided technical support to Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales across the entire drilling tools product line. Checked and approved manufacturing drawings across the entire product line. Worked on measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Analyzed and deployed new technologies and new product lines. Performed QA/QC audits on multi-million dollar drilling tools orders. Worked on a contract basis from 2/16 – 4/17.

8/10 – 2/15, Baker Hughes Inc., Houston, Texas. Completion Services – Sand Control. TECH SUPPORT MANAGER. Provided Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, QA/QC and worldwide Operations tech support for Baker Hughes sand control and all legacy BJ Services completion tools. Instrumental with BJ integration. Served as the technical lead and the primary resource for the MST group on engineering design guidelines and calculations. Developed all MST technical manuals. Guided the MST group to qualify ISO 14998 / API 19A V3 compliant MST systems. Generated Field Bulletins to address product non-conformances. Assisted Marketing with generating products and services tenders / quotations. Worked closely with major oil companies on multi-million dollar tools development and qualification. Assisted with MST project integration, project plan and specifications development, project scope, schedule and budget planning, project cost management, budget forecasting, cost tracking, project status reports, schedule analysis and overall project management.

11/07 – 8/10, BJ Services, a Baker Hughes company, Houston, Texas. Completion Tools. ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER. Managed a team of engineers, designers and drafters to develop and sustain the MST multi-zone, single trip frac pack completion system. Assisted with development of a complete line of completion tools ranging from production packers to high-rate/high-pressure gravel pack / frac pack and multi-zone horizontal completion systems. Worked closely with major oil companies in tools development and qualification.

7/05 – 11/07, Baker Oil Tools, a Baker Hughes company, Houston, Texas. Wellbore Construction – Zonal Isolation. ENGINEERING MANAGER. Managed a team of up to eight engineers, designers and drafters to develop and sustain zonal isolation reactive element packers. These include REPackers, FORMpac Packers, RCPackers, REBarrier Packers, REFlex Packers and MPas Packers. Assisted the Intelligent Well Systems (IWS) group with engineering development and testing of InForce HCM-S and Stepper systems.

6/02 – 7/05, Baker Oil Tools, a Baker Hughes company, Houston, Texas. Thru-Tubing Fishing. PROJECT MANAGER. Managed joint projects between Baker Oil Tools and Baker Hughes Inteq, Celle, Germany to develop the Navi-Drill VIP and X-treme next generation workover motors. Assisted Marketing with technical services and training worldwide field personnel in the launch of the new motors. Developed 2-phase workover motor performance calculator used by BOT Operations worldwide.

5/00 – 6/02, Baker Oil Tools, a Baker Hughes company, Houston, Texas. Thru-Tubing Fishing & Conventional Fishing. SR. PROJECT ENGINEER. Provided worldwide Engineering and Operations tech support for all BOT TTF Navi-Drill workover motors. Addressed First Alerts and performed Root Cause Analysis. Developed mud motor torque absorbers, hydraulic pulling tools, TTF and conventional fishing tools and accessories, motorhead assemblies, TTF milling systems and a multitude of comprehensive thread and seal design and analysis Excel-based programs used by BOT Engineering worldwide. Performed detailed stress analysis (AutoCAD 2D layouts, SolidWorks 3D model analysis and MathCAD and Excel-based calculators).

9/98 – 5/00, Weatherford International, Inc., Houston, Texas. Development Engineering. SR. R&D ENGINEER. Managed a design team of engineers and designers to develop thru-tubing mud motors, motorhead assemblies, pulling tools and mud motor milling systems for single and dual string windows. Was solely responsible for all development, sustaining and technical services engineering for entire mud motor product line.

3/96 – 9/98, Drilex, a Baker Hughes company, Houston, Texas. Development Engineering. LEAD ENGINEER. Supervised two engineers and a pool of designers to develop and support mud motors. Was responsible for all new product development and analysis activities. Performed detailed analysis and modifications to reduce costs and enhance product performance, reliability and profitability.

8/90 – 3/96, Camco Products & Services, a Schlumberger company, Houston, Texas. Development Engineering. SR. DESIGN ENGINEER, TEAM LEADER. Oversaw a design team consisting of two engineers and two designers to develop multi-lateral completion equipment and accessories. Developed coiled tubing deployed electromechanical drilling tools and a library of coiled tubing products and service tools for Camco Coiled Tubing Services, a division of Camco Products & Services. Worked closely with a design team to develop surface equipment used with coiled tubing deployed electromechanical drilling tools.

Experience includes FIELD ENGINEER (TRAINEE). Responsibilities included operation of open hole and cased hole wireline logging tools, coring and perforating guns, computers and logging tool maintenance. Worked closely with on-site geologists.
