Description

Geoscience Professional
Technical Operations geologist with experience in serving as a conduit between drilling teams, geological asset
teams, and reservoir engineering teams to optimize drilling, plan pilot programs, and present lookbacks to
management to recognize successes and address failures

Experience

CMG PETROLEUM, Houston, TX – Geologist May 2020- Current
 Developed recommendations for geosteering inputs for real-time modeling of reservoirs to improve wellbore
placement, provided analysis for offset frac impacts from fracture swarms.
MARATHON OIL, Houston, TX – Geologist October 2018 – May 2020
 Performed operations geologist duties across rig lines in STACK and SCOOP plays in Oklahoma and Bakken,
drilling wells on average 93% in zone, with many wells in highest 30 day initial production for Marathon.
 Led efforts to increase drilling ROP through testing multiple drilling and geological variables including different
stratigraphic zones and larger drilling windows. These efforts resulted in increase of ROP by 5% in Three Forks
wells, drilling the fastest wells for MRO in the Bakken.
 Implemented testing for 3rd-party vendors while drilling Boatwright wells in SCOOP to assess steering using
resistivity tools and azimuthal gamma. Kept bit in zone > 80% of the lateral.
 Developed and collaborated on a variety of Python scripts in StarSteer to facilitate loading wells, ROP analysis,
post-drill analysis, and incorporating completions data.
 Collaborated with completions team to assess frac corridors through gas-show as a proxy for Bakken completions
optimization. Helped corroborate the frac corridor data with challenges for completions to cut down on
investigating causes of failure for stages.
 Integrated seismic data in SCOOP wells to keep wells in high-graded pay rock for optimum performance.
GRIFFIN GEOLOGICAL CONSULTING, Edmond, Oklahoma – Geologist March 2018 – October 2018
 Consultant contracted to various groups providing economic analysis of vertical wells, on-call as an expert
witness, calculating volumetrics, large-scale mapping projects, providing geological backing to assess mineral
prices for landowners to determine market opportunities for undervalued or overvalued acreage.
DEVON ENERGY CORPORATION, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Geologist August 2016 – March 2018
 Planned and geosteered more than forty wells across two rig lines in the STACK play, keeping wellbore in highgraded pay rock averaging 96% in zone of interest. Worked with landmen and regulatory personnel.
 Worked with Geomodeler to analyze reservoir properties along wellbore (Petrel).
 Provided reservoir Engineers data (Drillinginfo) from well logs to help develop reservoir models.
 Provided lookbacks after wells were brought online, assessing performance and updating operating model.
 Mapped intermediate casing intervals in Inola across the STACK play, providing a guide for drillers and other
geologists in well planning. Planned multiple development units as part of a STACK play lateral team.
 Executed company’s pilot program in the Anadarko Basin, drilling six of the seven pilot wells in 2017.
 Characterized reservoir for Austin Chalk, including mechanical stratigraphy of sub-units, correlating the core to
electrofacies, and choosing facies for ϐluid testing.
