My favorite college memories are the chemistry classes. I worked 6 years in high tech and 6 years in O&G production. I escaped from the petroleum industry to do something meaningful in life. The SPE Scholarship was $1000 if I recall correctly. It was nice, very nice, don't get me wrong, but that was a little more than 2 months rent...
