Introduction to Sub-surface Formation Evaluation and Formation Testing & Fluid Sampling

Dr. Sefer Coskun has more than 35 years of experience in the petroleum industry, with interests in pressure transient analysis, reservoir simulation and formation testing and fluid sampling.  After completing his BS degree in Geological Engineering and working 5 years for Oil and Gas exploration in Turkey he pursued his PhD degree in Canada and worked as Reservoir Engineer for Scientific Software Intercomp (SSI).  He joined Baker Hughes in 1997 and worked in Canada, Bahrain, UAE and United States. He is currently the Global Lead for Formation Testing and Sampling at Baker Hughes.

Amer Hanif has 34 years of industry experience, in well logging, petrophysics and formation evaluation. He started his career in Saudi Arabia as wireline logging engineer with SLB, subsequently moving to Baker Hughes in 2002 where he is currently the Global Lead for Formation Evaluation. He actively participates in training and competency management activities in Baker Hughes. Amer has a MS degree, in Electrical Engineering, from UT Austin, and is a member of SPE-GCS Continuing Education Committee, SPWLA Houston Chapter Board and SPWLA Annual Conference Technical Committee.
