Prior to joining Rockcliff, Smith held a number of executive roles at energy-focused investment companies including Quantum Resources Management, Quantum Energy Partners, and Chalker Energy Partners. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.

Preston Phillips is responsible for Aethon’s acquisition and divestiture processes and commercial activities including midstream and marketing.  Previously, he led efforts to develop a greenfield refinery project and a joint development study of oil fields in the Middle East.  Prior to joining Aethon, Phillips worked for Sevin Rosen Funds and Texas Instruments. Phillips graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and earned his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
