Mr. Mateen is the VP of Engineering & Technology of TOTAL E&P Research & Technology USA. He has over 30 years of international experience in oil & gas field development, of which the last 24 years are with TOTAL. Prior to US assignment, he served as the General Manager Development Planning for TOTAL Canada. Earlier international assignments include managerial position in development planning and strategy in Abu Dhabi, France, Thailand, and Norway. Khalid holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University. Current responsibilities include technologies development in Deep Offshore, Flow Assurance, and Chemical EOR. He is the author of several publications.

Jon Crane has worked for Shell since 1987. He began his career as a roustabout in the Schoonebeek Field in the Netherlands and spent six years working on drilling rigs both offshore and onshore in the Netherlands and in Oman. Following his drilling experience, Jon led two multibillion dollar projects: Bonga SW in Nigeria and the Draugen Redevelopment in Norway aiming to capture 2 million tons of CO2 per annum. Jon headed the development planning and economics team in The Hague helping major projects with complex decision and after four years as Drilling Manager in Norway - working on deepwater exploration and delivering the Ormen Lange field wells, Jon moved to the USA as VP - Technology Deployment and Quality. He has spent the last 4 years in Shell International US, producing the next generation of automated drilling systems, BOP control systems and expandables. Jon holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Durham University, UK and he is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Jim Raney has held the position of Dir. of Engineering for Anadarko Petroleum’s Engineering & Technology Group for over nine years. He is assigned to special projects for the development of a 20,000 psi Drilling (MODU, BOP’s and high pressure riser), 20 ksi and 350 F Completions and Production Subsea System for Deep water GOM. Prior to his current position, Jim was responsible for technology developments for Drilling, Completions, Producing Operations, Mid-Stream Operations and Facilities Engineering for the corporation on a worldwide basis. Before joining Anadarko, he served in a variety of technical and management assignments with Mobil and ExxonMobil. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Applied Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is past-Chairman of the API Committee on Standardization of Oilfield Equipment and Materials (CSOEM), member of the CSOEM and API Vice-Chairman of the Global Industry Service Committee (GISC).  He is past Chairman of the API Monogram Program Board and past Chairman API Protocol for Equipment Rated above 15,000 psi Committee (TR PER15K).  Jim also joined the Board of Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) in the Fall 2013 and the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) d5 Advisory Committee in 2014.

Kim McHugh is the GM of Drilling & Completions for Chevron Services Company based in Houston, Texas. In this role, Kim supports the global drilling, completions and workover operations. This includes technical standards, performance planning, D&C IT, operations geology, subsea well intervention, and rig category management. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS & MS in petroleum engineering. Kim is a second generation driller growing up in the industry in locations all over the US & international. Her career has spanned operations in the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Thailand, and onshore US. Kim has worked for Chevron, BP, Unocal, and ARCO in operator roles and as a consultant. She has held various roles in managing field operations, engineering, and global performance.
