Alex Crabtree has more than 29 years experience in the oil and gas service industry.  He currently holds the position of senior advisor for Well Interventions within Hess’s E&P Technology department, based in Houston. He has been involved with the coiled tubing and intervention industry since 1984. In addition, he has worked in the cement, fracturing, acidising, nitrogen, leak detection, fishing and industrial cleaning services during his career. Work assignments have included work in the Middle East, Far East, North Sea and North America. He has authored 10 papers, holds 4 patents, is a past program committee chairman for the SPE/ICoTA CT Conferences and the SPE Applied Technology Workshops. For 2001-2002 Season he was an SPE Distinguished Lecturer. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering.

Duncan McBain currently serves as project manager for Aker Solutions in Houston, Texas. Originally from Scotland, he has over 22 years experience in international wireline operations, maintenance, manufacturing and project management, including work in a dozen different countries across the globe. He joined Aker Solutions Well Service group in 2008 and recently completed a 1 year assignment in Stavanger, Norway. Duncan has a BEng in electrical and electronic engineering from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Brian Schwanitz is a graduate of Michigan Technological University in applied geophysics and has worked in the oilfield service industry for 34 years, having spent 25 years with Schlumberger. He joined Welltec in 2002 and started the USA business for Welltec where, in six years the business grew from one location to eight operating bases with over 80 employees.  Following two years as vice president of global sales and marketing at the company headquarters in Denmark, he took the position of vice president Latin America in Brazil and is now vice president of global accounts in Houston. Brian has 30 years as an SPE member, 16 published SPE papers and trade journal articles, and is currently in his ninth year on the ICOTA board, serving as vice chairman. He was recently selected to be an SPE Distinguished Lecturer for 2012–2013.
