Biography
Derek Key is the Marketing Manager at the ProTechnics division of Core Laboratories, located in
Houston, TX.
He has been an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2013. In 2019, he began
volunteering for the Gulf Coast Section, eventually serving on the Executive board from 2022 to 2023 in
the capacity of Secretary. He received the Section Service Award for 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023
Chairman's Award.
In his current role as Marketing Manager at ProTechnics, Derek continues to leverage his
communication skills and industry expertise to drive marketing initiatives. Derek graduated with a
degree in Communications from the University of Texas in Austin.
