EDUCATION:

  • Waltrip High School - 1983
  • Rice, BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Rice, BA in Mathematical Sciences, 1987
  • University of Chicago, MBA, Finance, Booth Graduate School of Business, 1993

Although trained in engineering, I pursued a career in investment finance. Through this experience, I've had the chance to develop managerial and technical skills. In addition, it has been my privilege to help individuals and institutions conduct proper financial planning in my roles as a portfolio manager and chief investment officer at multiple companies. Having been fortunate enough to receive the generosity of a SPE scholarship, I was able to attend the college of my choice. This led to a series of contacts and opportunities that I believe would not have occurred otherwise.  I would humbly suggest to all students today that an open mind to all opinions and cultures is a critical part of an engineer's skill set. Developing solutions is our contribution to society at large; not just for "engineering" problems, but also all other aspects of society.
