Have you ever wanted to write an SPE paper? Have you had difficulty getting your abstract accepted to a conference? Would you like to become a better SPE paper writer and presenter? Ever wondered how one gets their paper in an SPE journal? In this class Terry will answer these questions and many more. It will include how to find a conference, writing an abstract with higher chance of acceptance, composing a manuscript and power-point presentation, as well the process for submitting the paper to peer-review. The class will be interactive and ample time will be devoted to answering your questions.

Terry Palisch is the Vice-President of Technology and Engineering at CARBO Ceramics, located in Richardson, TX. After completing his BS in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR), Palisch worked as a senior petroleum engineer for 10 years with ARCO in Alaska and for four years as a petroleum advisor with ARCO in Algeria, North Africa. In 2004 he joined CARBO Ceramics, and in his current position Palisch leads a team of technologists dedicated to developing and championing new products and services as well as advising clients on completion/fracture optimization.


He has authored over 50 SPE papers, is past chairman of the SPE Dallas Section and ATCE Technical Program Chair.  He just completed his term as the Completions Technical Director on the SPEI Board, and has been awarded the SPE MidCon Region Completions Optimization & Technology Award and the Regional Service Award. In 2018 Palisch was recognized as a Distinguished Member of SPEI, and received the award for Distinguished Service. He has also been recognized as a Distinguished Alumni at Missouri S&T (formerly UMR).
