Description

I am an organic geochemist with expertise in isotope geochemistry, natural gas geochemistry, H2 in-situ generation and storage, CO2 sequestration. I have worked with in diverse groups (USA, Germany, China) in multiple geological settings (over ten sedimentary basins), integrating diverse and new geochemical tools to tackle the geological problems. My research has an impact on the understanding of gas generation and equilibration in hydrocarbon system, H2 production in natural shale and coal reservoirs, H2 in-situ generation from mineral-water system, evaluation of H2 loss in the subsurface, and the development of new geochemical tools (position-specific isotopes). I join everal industrial-funded grants technically and experimentally, which are related to the research of natural gas and H2.

Experience

1 H2 in-situ generation
2 H2 storage/CO2 sequestration in the subsurface
3 Isotope geochemistry (e.g., position-specific isotopes)
4 Natural gas/petroleum geochemistry

Skills

GC-MS, GC-IRMS, NMR, pyrolysis, petrophysical evaluation.
