Reservoir Simulation Forum

A day after the reservoir simulation short course a simulation forum will be held to discuss timely topics focused on reservoir simulation.  The simulation forum is included in the short course fee and can be attended by members who did not attend the short course for a fee of $50.00.

The forum will consist of four 90 minute sessions dedicated to a timely simulation topic of interest.  Each session will have keynote talks followed by ample discussion time. The focus will be on the practical aspects of each simulation topic rather than a theoretical treatment of each topic. Each session will consist of the speakers giving a short (15 minute) presentation on the topic from their perspective followed by a panel discussion on the topic

The four main topics and confirmed speakers are listed below:

 1. The use of simulation models in the reserves estimation process.

-   Dean Rietz, Ryder Scott

-   Adnan Usmani, Ryder Scott

2. Assisted history matching; techniques and products available

-  Stig Selberg, SPT

-  Bob Parish, Energy Scitech

- Sheldon Gorrell, Landmark

3. Evaluating a model's history match.

-  Bruce Palmer, Ryder Scott

-  Scott Lane, BP

-  Jim Erdle, CMG

4. Issues with modeling Deepwater GOM reservoirs.

-  Bob Archer, Knowledge Reservoir

-  James Keating, Chevron

The simulation forum is included in the short course fee which starts two days before and can be attended by members who did not attend the short course for a fee of $50.00.
