General Meeting: Sustaining and Building Partnerships: People and Negotiation
ABSTRACT of Presentation
Success in completing and executing partnerships of all kinds depends upon managing many business and operational issues.
Therefore, both commercial and technical roles are important in sustaining and growing these relationships. When cross-cultural differences dominate, agreement and execution can be particularly problematic. Negotiations can be shortened and benefits increased by focusing on the subtle, often hidden, interplay between language, culture, and personality, even when both parties speak the same language or come from the same background.
With attention to these details as well as the content of negotiation, use of a few critical and easily implemented tools can bring increased success to long-term partnerships.
