Petroleum Engineering Consultant - Houston, Texas 2019 - 2021
Engineering Consultant working on various short-term engineering projects in Texas and Louisiana.

• Small projects lasting month or less. Developed procedures and completed several workovers and re-completions on wells in both South Tx and S. La. Equipment upgrades to increase production. Worked on permits for facilities and on several regulatory compliance issues. Analysis and AFE’s for cost overruns on projects for clients.

Enervest Operating – Houston, Texas 2014 -2019
Senior Production Engineer working in the Barnett shale, South Texas Eagleford, Giddings Austin Chalk and Mid-Con areas for past five years in production operations which includes well workover operations, facilities and day to day operations.

• Mid-Con – 1.5 years. Day to day operational support to Western Ok & Tx Panhandle areas. Recommendations on over ~150 wellbore and facility projects. This includes company operation well workovers and direct supervision of on-site representatives. Detailed recommendations to management for consent / non-consent on non-operated well workovers. Assisted in gathering data for property divestures. Provide engineering support on Uinta area field in Utah as required. Provide production operations input to various inquiries from drilling-completion, land, HS&E and accounting groups. Provided back up support to operations manager on various accounting items, weekly reports and managerial meetings.

• S.Tx Eagleford, Giddings Austin Chalk and Barnett Shale areas – 3.5 years. Operational recommendations on over ~250 wellbore and facility projects for operated and non-operated properties. This work included the merging in new acquisitions into company operations. Responsible for well workovers, prep of wells for off-set frac operations and install of artificial lift ( plunger, gas-lift and rod pump ) on numerous wells. Set-up offset operator frac notification system for EV and worked with field to set up real time pressure monitoring alert system. Provided production operations input to various inquiries from drilling-completion, geology-geophysical, land, HS&E and accounting groups.

• Direct supervisor of up to three workover rig consultants depending on work schedule/requirements along with field superintendents.

Cabot Oil and Gas Company - Houston, Texas 2000 - 2014
Senior Production Engineer worked on various projects in South & East Texas and along the inland waterways of the Gulf Coasts of South Texas and Louisiana for both company operated and non-operated properties. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, completions, re-completions, workovers and new facility installations. Coordinated the activities of support groups to increase revenue and provide a safe work environment in this area.

• Provided back up support to South Texas Eagleford & Pearsall area operations and completions engineer for well work and day to day field operations. Worked on 40+ facility installations and upgrades for this project area. This included single well and multi-well pad sites. Project costs ranging from $400 M to $3.6 MM.

• Provide backup support to operations manager for various daily, weekly morning reports and meetings.

• Corpus Christi area engineer for 30 well field of directionally drilled Frio gas/condensate wells with multi-pay intervals. Responsible for new well completions, re-completions, workovers and facilities. Maximized wellbore lay out for use of through tubing completions that lowered future re-completion costs. Production ranging up to 10,000 MSCF/D & 300 BCPD. Responsible for day-to-day operations on wells.

• Initial completions, re-completions and workovers on 16 directional wells in South La. inland waterways with production rates up to 18,000 MSCF/D & 400 BCPD. HPHT wellbores to 15,000’. Cost range from $1.0 MM to $2.5 MM. Developed plans which resulted in the installation of twelve inland waterway facilities to handle production up to 24 MMSCF/D and 1000 BF/D. This included permitting, tie-in points, design and equipment recommendations. Cost range from $1.0 MM to $6.0 MM. Responsible for day-to-day operations on wells.

• Initial completions, re-completions and workovers on 6 directional wells in South Texas inland waterways with production rates up to 12,000 MSCF/D & 300 BCPD. HPHT wellbores to 12,000’. Cost range from $200 M to $1.8 MM. Developed plans which resulted in the installation of 8 inland waterway/shore facilities to handle production up to 20 MMSCF/D and 600 BF/D. This included permitting, tie-in points, design and equipment recommendations. Cost range from $1.0 MM to $4.0 MM. Responsible for day-to-day operations on wells.

• Worked on various aspects of 18 shallow GOM well projects. This encompassed doing hazard survey work, completion design, facilities and facility tie-in options. Completed and installed a single well caisson and tied back to existing facility. Initial production rates of 12,000 MSCF/D & 200 BCPD.

• Direct supervisor of up to three workover rig consultants depending on work schedule/requirements along with two field superintendents.

Petroleum Engineering Consultant - Houston, Texas 1999 - 2000
Engineering Consultant working on various short-term engineering projects in Texas and Louisiana.

• Developed procedures and completed several workovers and re-completions on high pressure wells. Equipment upgrades to increase production to 22 MMSCF/D and 300 BF/D. Fina Oil and Chemical - Houston, Texas 1990 - 1999
Engineering Advisor supervising inland waterway and onshore production operations along the Gulf of Mexico. Coordinate activities of support groups to increase revenue and provide a safe work environment in this area.

• Purchase and equip two new production barges plus upgrade and equip two barges from inventory at a cost of $1.4 MM, placing on-line production of 8.2 MMSCF & 1040 BOPD & 2000 BWPD.

• Designed eight successful recompletions and workovers that increased production by 11 MMSCF/D & 150 BOPD.

• Developed facility plans for 12 inland waterway projects, several of which are currently installed at a cost of $1.5 MM per site. These facilities are each capable of production rates up to 10 MMSCF/D & 1200 BF/D.

• Responsible for operation of facilities, platforms, lines and 13 wells off the coastline in shallow water (10’ depth) off La. Successful workovers and re-completions increased production from 2.7 MMSCF & 40 BO to 10.6 MMSCF & 150 BO per day. Managed pipeline replacement project (29,000’- 4” line) costing $660 M. This project eliminated the potential of a line failure and environmental liability associated with the old lines.

• Obtained permits, designed and supervised the new installation and upgrade of seven SWD wells and facilities onshore and on the inland waterways of Louisiana. These successful projects eliminated disposal capacity situations, production downtime, regulatory problems and reduced LOE by $30-40 M/month for each one.

• Initiated five barge workovers to upgrade GL valve systems, increasing daily production 10%. The re-designed systems allowed for through-tubing recompletions, enabling future re-completions to be done at reduced costs.

• Spearheaded the successful laying of 26,000’ of 3” coiled tubing flowline in the environmentally sensitive and shallow waters of Laguna Madre near Bird Island. Constant communication and coordination of the on-site activities with state and federal agencies was critical to the project’s success.

• Developed plans for onshore gas facilities and pipelines for a 34 well project in Mississippi with rates from 2-10 MMSCF/D per site costing up to $1.5 MM per site and for two gas gathering systems to handle 120 MMSCF/D. Installed four oil facilities and artificial lift systems that established 1000 BOPD of heavy oil production in Ms.

• Direct supervisor of up to three workover rig consultants depending on work schedule along with field superintendents.

• Tyler, Texas - Staff Production Engineer directly responsible for production, reservoir and drilling operations for all company and partner operated properties in North Louisiana and South Arkansas. Drilled four wells successfully to TD and equip wells, placing on line 6.0 MMSCF/D and 625 BOPD. Responsible for 70 well shallow water-flood operation. Coordinated, organized and monitored the division’s reserve data base for use by the corporate reserve group.

This balanced background provides a strong base for working independently or in a team. Self-starter working across various job responsibilities, effectively combining good communications with problem solving skills. Have worked in small and medium sized exploration and production companies and have been flexible working across various disciplines to accomplish and succeed in completing basic to very complex production-operations projects.

I have worked both convention and unconventional assets in various areas of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Have worked unconventional assets in the South Tx Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk plays, pure Austin Chalk play near Giddings Tx, Barnett Shale and Western Oklahoma for the past few years for Enervest. Worked conventional oil and gas well properties in Texas and Louisiana. Have high pressure gas field operations experience on land in South & East Tx, North & South Louisiana and in inland-water way projects in South Tx and the South Louisiana Gulf Coast areas with Fina Oil & Chemical and Cabot Oil & Gas which can be discussed in greater detail in an interview. Perforating experience with thru tubing guns, TCP & conventional systems. Artificial lift experience with plunger lift, gas-assisted plunger lift, rod pump, downhole ESP’s and gas lift systems. P&A experience on land, wetlands & inland waterway areas.

Facilities work includes complete tank batteries with full processing streams having line heaters, heater-treaters, 3-2 phase HP & LP separators, de-hi with BTEX, JT units, compression, sales point tie-ins, pipeline installations on land and in wetland-water environments using general land construction techniques along with waskey deck, steel barges and platform structures. Facility experience includes SWD well drilling and well workover operations along with installing processing equipment for SWD wells.

In addition to the above workover experience I was also the day-to-day production-operations engineer for all land and inland water assets. I was also a member in various Oil Spill Response / Emergency Response teams and have worked closely and coordinated with the drilling groups, reservoir groups, accounting groups, regulatory and HSE teams regarding all field operations.
