PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2007-2020 ETOCO, L.P. Operations Manager Houston, Texas
Drilling/ Completion/ Production Engineering
• Managed all drilling, completion, and production activities for the company
• Managed the drilling of horizontal, mono- lateral, and multilateral completions
• Successfully executed various alternative completion methods such as “Packer Plus / Sleeve” compartments, and swellable packers / perf and plug compartments for multi stage fracing.
• Worked closely with geologist and landman to coordinate drilling projects
• Heavily involved with monitoring and consulting with Operator partners on wells where ETOCO owned a working interest, during the drilling and the completion phases
• Instituted paperless morning field reporting and paperless filing systems for well records for easier access by other company personnel
• Experience in horizontal multi-stage frac completions
• Developed several innovations in achieving superb cement zonal isolation of casing including elimination of gas flow after cementing

1980 – 2007 Sanchez ‘O Brien / Sanchez Oil and Gas Corp Operations Manager Laredo and Houston,TX
Drilling/Production Engineering
• Managed all drilling, completion, and production activities for the corporation
• Took great pride in our reputation as one of the top independent operators in the industry, as noted by investors and working interest partners
• Successfully executed various alternative drilling methods such as drilling with casing, horizontal drilling, multi-lateral horizontal, under balance drilling, air drilling, and directional drilling
• Supervised all types of drilling and completion operations including high pressure and high flow rate wells, directional wells, coil tubing work, fracture treatments including initiating fracing-down-casing, and sand control completions
• Successfully managed the permitting and execution of projects in environmentally sensitive areas such as densely populated areas, state parks, United States Bureau of Land Management land, and federally protected wetlands
• Created a cost control program that can be used effectively by field personnel to log and record actual field costs. The aggregated data has proven to be useful by accounting and budgeting analysts in comparing actual project costs to AFE numbers. The cost tracker field data is used to confirm invoice items and to identify variances. The results of this program have allowed for more reliable field cost numbers, subsequently improving project estimates and reducing overages on newer projects’ AFE’s
• Developed a novel safety system for remote shut-downs and auto-monitoring of well facilities in environmentally sensitive areas
• Instituted paperless morning field reporting and paperless filing systems for well records
• Have designed drilling programs and drilled over 350 wells throughout Texas and neighboring states
• Directed operations for company operated wells as well as non-operated wells
• Designed complex completion procedures for commingling various zones to maximize cash flow and accelerate the rate of return
• Developed several innovations in achieving superb cement zonal isolation of casing including elimination of gas flow after cementing
• Collaborated daily with Geosciences, Accounting, and landmen to implement drilling of prospects
• Designed and implemented unique solutions to properly handle well control situations and solve lost circulation problems and successfully drill thru depleted zones
• Designed and supervised installation of production facilities, pipelines, and SWD facilities
• Designed and installed artificial lift systems for oil-producing wells
• Designed and supervised numerous recompletions, workovers, and P&A’s of existing wells
• Implemented chemical treatments to reduce corrosion and monitor effectiveness of such treatment to minimize production costs
• Created annual capital budgets and individual project budgets
• Managed and directed various divestitures of producing properties
• Supervised full-time employees and teams of contract drilling consultants and production personnel

1977 – 1980 Sun Oil / Sun Gas Segment Engineer Corpus Christi, Texas
Production/Reservoir Engineering
• Took over several major producing fields after only six months of training as Segment Engineer. Sun Field, and North Sun Field in Starr County, Jones Field, and East Jones Field in Jim Hogg County, Beaurline wells on the McAllen Ranch in Hidalgo, (Frio, Vicksburg and Yegua)
• Tracked monthly production decline and projected yearly production for revenue budgeting
• Wrote and supervised completion procedures for new wells and recommended recompletion for non-economically producing wells
• Initiated prospects in a depleted field in North Sun for an upper Vicksburg sand and found a virgin pressure sand resulting in two BCF of reserves and achieving a 6-month payout
• Managed over 100 producing wells, mostly oil wells on artificial lift
• Supervised production foreman and production technician
• Supervised field personnel
• Performed detailed analyses to determine the lift efficiency of pumping jacks, plunger lift, and gas lift oil wells in order to optimize lift performance
• Conducted economic evaluations of Sun wells including reserve estimates to justify drilling and completion recommendations
• Performed over 30 recompletions ranging from shallow oil wells to deep gas wells
• Conducted an extensive reservoir study of producing wells by comparing reservoir drainage models to integrating production data, and utilizing pressure buildup analysis with cumulative gas production, resulting in identifying reserves behind pipe
• Identified partial skin effects damage and conducted acid and frac stimulation to enhance well productivity
• Directed operations in high-pressure completions and well control in critical wells
• Supervised contract personnel in matters of work performance
