Experience
- PACKERS PLUS ENERGY SERVICES, INC., Tomball, Texas (Senior Engineer, Jan 2017 – Apr 2024) • Designed enhanced open flow area and high diodicity (different resistance to flow in opposite directions) ICDs with equivalent performance as a nozzle, based on extensive CFD simulations and validation with laboratory tests. These ICDs are used to regulate the fluid flow during water injection and for oil and gas production to maximize recovery. • Applied CFD modeling (single-phase and two-phase, erosion) to enable the development of several innovative completion tools for sand control and stimulation applications. • Performed reservoir modeling using NETool for designing optimal nozzle configuration for steam injection wells. - SLB, Rosharon, Texas (Principal Engineer, Jan 2001 – May 2016) • Collaborated with operations, business segment, and engineering during the NPD life cycle to introduce new products for screen and ICD portfolio. • Managed software development project from initiation to closure including identifying key deliverables, tracking project progress, obtaining final acceptance, and transferring the ownership of deliverables to assigned stakeholders. • Led the development of analytical and statistical models (using Monte Carlo Simulations) to estimate sand production in laboratory sand retention tests (SRTs) through SAS for screen size selection and published several papers on the subject. • Developed in-house software for SAS size selection leveraging numerical models as well as extensive laboratory tests. This software was used by the operations team for recommending screen size to the customers for SAS applications, thereby eliminating/minimizing the number of physical SRTs to be performed. • Crafted instructional material and training packages. Organized and facilitated numerous internal courses on screen and ICD for the field and product center engineers. • Released friction pressure and sand settling calculators for field use via model development and automation. • Developed and utilized numerical gravel packing simulator to accurately predict gravel transport and fluid pressures by modeling fluid leakage into the reservoir and fluid movement through downhole tools. This ensured precise design and execution of gravel pack operations, supporting field activities effectively. • Improved the functionality of the pump schedule generator module within hydraulic fracturing (HF) numerical simulator to produce a pump schedule capable of attaining the targeted fracture conductivity and average proppant width following the fracturing treatment.
