Replaced ~ 10,000 circuit feet of 1920’s vintage 15 kV PILC cable in the Holland Tunnel under the Hudson river which were damaged by salt water during hurricane Sandy in 2012. This 5-year construction project involved installing temporary 15 kV cables under the roadway, demolishing the existing 15 kV cables and duct bank along the roadway and replacing with new duct banks and cables, then removing the temp cables under the roadway. Performed site inspections, cable shield sizing calculations, created cable procurement and testing specifications and construction installation and sequencing instructions, and detailed design.
Two Energy Transfer pumping station protection relay upgrades in TX and MS. Selected modern feeder and motor protection relays to replace electro-mechanical relays on 1950 vintage switchgear. Performed power system studies, relay programming and startup/commissioning.
Eleven DCP Midstream NGL pump stations in TX. Performed FEED, procurement, FAT for PCRs, electrical infrastructure detailed design, power system studies and relay programming for MV transformers, 2000 hp to 6000 hp MV motors, MV SWGR/MCCs, MV VFDs with dual sync transfer, and LV power distribution equipment.
Performed FEED, procurement, electrical infrastructure detailed design, startup/commissioning, power system studies and relay programming for dozens of pump stations; equipment included MV transformers, MV switchgear and MCC, 500 hp to 4000 hp MV motors, VFDs with sync transfer and LV power distribution equipment.
Performed electrical and control system upgrade projects on operating petrochemical plants.
