DNR NATURAL RESOURCES, Denver, CO 2012 to 2020
Director of Engineering
As part of the Executive Team, supervise staff of three engineers and one technician focused on developing
Wolfcamp horizontal play in Reagan and Irion Counties in West Texas. Present to Board of Directors
regarding planning, reserves, resource assessment, and project updates.
§ Refocused team from quarterly reserve audits to in-house technical evaluations emphasizing project
development, reservoir modeling, and post appraisals, building core competencies in horizontal
development and reducing need for third-party engineering support.
§ Improved profitability of the business and project rates of return by 30% by leading the transition from
vertical to horizontal development, resulting in growth from zero to 150+ MMBOE in proved horizontal
reserves over 5 years.
§ Doubled the company’s acreage footprint through various acreage acquisitions in Reagan and Irion
Counties to support horizontal development and improve project economics through corridor
development and longer laterals.
§ Achieved reserve variances of less than 10% on a consistent basis with Third-Party Reserve Auditors for
annual reserve reviews through appropriate engineering techniques.
§ Drove changes in well spacing and production management / flowback strategies through Rate Transient
Analysis (RTA), Fracture Modeling and Reservoir Modeling, following recent projects testing full
development of the Wolfcamp resource. Changes in well spacing and production management
strategies lead to a significant improvement in overall well performance.
§ Led engineering assessment for semi-annual Reserve Base Loan process, advising Executive Team and
members of the Board. Served as key contact during the process presenting results and analysis to
lenders and equity sponsor.

growth, ROR, and finding cost targets resulting in reserve growth of 250 BCFE over two years.
§ Collaborated with technical staff, minimizing risk for key reservoir targets on and off company acreage
and expanding footprint, helping drive overall growth strategy
§ Established high technical standards for Business Unit given overall high development cost for projects in
Basin, ensuring quality work, mitigating high failure cost.
§ Spearheaded strategy shift from vertical to horizontal development.

previously with little recent development activity.
§ Generated several low-risk new drill projects, resulting in increases in production of over 25 MMCFED
from several fields.
Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor / Corporate Reservoir Engineering
Evaluated acquisitions leading to transactions in Gulf of Mexico, Australia, North Sea, and Argentina.
Recommended CEO defer purchasing Argentina assets until seller reduced valuation which occurred
following year after seller restructured leadership team.
