This is an expatatriate position located in Saudi Arabia.

 

Position Description:
The Unconventional Resources Support team is looking to hire a Systems Consultant who will be able to provide high level technical advice on PE data quality control checks, verification and archival. The Systems Consultant will initiate and lead high level data management projects, analyze complex data management issues and implements corrective permanent solutions, perform in-depth development of data governance practices and implementations as well as lead and direct Unconventional Resources data management initiatives and projects.

The Systems Consultant will develop data security and protection policies and recommend enhancements as needed as well as mentor professionals; develop training materials and conduct comprehensive training.

Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate is expected to meet the following minimum requirements:-

A Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, computer science, management information system or geoscience. An advanced degree is preferred.

15 years’ experience in Petroleum Engineering business functions including 8 years in intensive data management.

Sound understanding and in-depth knowledge of data management concepts, business rules, workflows, model designs and data governance concepts.

Demonstrates high level of knowledge in upstream domains data and creates and uses cross-discipline workflows to implement best-practice approaches.

Demonstrate knowledge in the Root Cause Failure Analysis process

Expertise in systems and applications development processes.

Strong capabilities to lead projects and teams on data management activities.

Excellent computer skills with wide experience in well database applications and systems.

Outstanding English communication skills (Verbal and written)

Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Identify problems with existing UR data management environment and formulates solutions, alternatives and recommendations to resolve them.

Provides central direction and control over complex theoretical and practical UR data management projects and work with cross-functional teams for implementations, review/monitor project progress and generate needed reports.

Analyze the effects of proposed changes to data workflows on all UR stakeholders and provide recommendations to enhance the proposal.

Originate ideas for improvement and recommend or change procedures for UR data management

Ensure the implementation of UR data management policies, methodologies and procedures.

Serve as UR data senior representative to facilitate internal/external technical meetings and communication between the development team and all stakeholders.

Mentor young professionals; develop training materials and conduct comprehensive training.

Develop, implement and review data management standards and protection policies for enhancing data integrity and security

Represent Saudi Aramco in dealing with data management vendors and outside consultations.

Provides technical expertise and technical consulting on UR data quality assurance and quality control measurements.

Set a clear leadership example in promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.
