Petrobowl V

Petrobowl V is making its rounds! The Fifth Annual Petrobowl competition (being held at the 2006 SPE ATCE in San Antonio, TX) is back where it started. And the ELP of SPE-GCS, along with the support of PetroSkills, is happy to have been there throughout the years to make it happen. Recollections of the inaugural Petrobowl (held at the 2002 SPE ATCE in San Antonio, TX) prove that this event has become a staple of the SPE ATCE. By entertaining our industry's professionals and involving our industry's students, Petrobowl is an event that can be enjoyed by all.

The rules of the competition have not changed since the inception; however, the number of schools competing has doubled, including an expectation this year of four international schools. Petrobowl now consists of up to 16 Universities, each with a team of four, competing against each other to answer questions ranging from the fundamentals of petroleum engineering to the unique, rich history and current events of the O&G industry. The Petrobowl competition is historically one that provides the student sections of SPE chapters around the globe an opportunity to showcase their knowledge while proudly representing their schools at the SPE ATCE.

Texas A&M currently holds the Petrobowl traveling trophy, but will be bringing it to the competition to hand over to any school able to beat them.
