SEISMIC TO SIMULATION

Visualization has been described as the engine that drives integration but it is really only a tool that crosses a multi-discipline landscape of competing data domains. While in the recent past much of the industry has concentrated on integration through data-centric processes and has enhanced these improvements through advanced data-visualization tools, there is a new paradigm that promises to deliver real understanding of an assets value. While visualization has improved out ability to rationalize these different but overlapping analysis domains, it in its self has not completely facilitated our ability to define the complex relationships affecting the remote sensing of the hydrocarbon potential of a particular asset. The uuncertainty within our datasets is particularly problematic because of the spatial distribution of known data, at the wellbore, to the more uncertain knowledge found at the in the 3D reservoir level. Remember that while Visualization drives the integration the industry desires it is only the beginning of the process of understanding the uncertainties of the reservoir.
