Facilities and Construction Committee-Lessons Learned on Materials and Maintenance Handling Strategies for SPAR Platforms

Recent experience has provided valuable lessons regarding the development and implementation of maintenance and material handling strategies for “novel” (SPAR) offshore drilling and production facilities. The presentation will provide background on how production availability can be affected by poor maintenance and material handling approaches. However, human factor plans and strategies can be developed and implemented to improve the maintainability and availability of the facility. The challenges encountered by the engineering design team were overcome with unique solutions, which will be highlighted during the presentation.
