Northside: Measurements, Models and Innovation – Increasing Oil Recovery in the Bakken
The Bakken formation in the North Dakota Williston Basin is one of the most prolific unconventional basins in North America. In an effort to optimize field development, Hess has been on a 10-year journey of data acquisition to develop a better understanding of fracture geometry and reservoir recovery. These data projects have been leveraged to calibrate both physical and mental models which in turn are used for optimization and innovation in the Basin. This presentation will outline a few of the projects that were completed, how they were used and look forward to some innovative development scenarios.
