Northside: Perforation Cluster Efficiency of Cemented Plug and Perf Limited Entry Completions. Insights from Logging Based Diagnostics

An overview of SPE-209130-MS will be discussed, which outlines a new fracture diagnostic method for determining stimulation distribution effectiveness from well logging.  This presentation will outline the fracturing water saturation method describing near wellbore fracture behavior and a case study comparison to fiber optic distributed acoustic sensing data.  As an update to the original paper, further case study results will be presented utilizing cased hole logs.  This new cased hole method allows for efficient expansion of the open hole data to the entire PAD and also has application for evaluation of DUCs and refracs.  A cement density evaluation method will also be described with example comparisons to CBL measurements.  Understanding hydraulic fracturing behavior is crucial in unconventional plays as we continue to drill and complete infill wells.  Efficient well logging with modern conveyance technology allows for low-risk economic evaluation of this fracture behavior as well as the subsurface characteristics which impact it.
