General- World Oil Supply and Demand: How Vulnerable Are We?

With prices headed north of Highway 60, the world is becoming more and more concerned about future supplies of oil. Will there be enough oil to supply the developed countries and the rapidly increasing demand from developing countries? This presentation will address both the supply and demand sides of the energy equation, especially with respect to national security. Supply and demand may be equal, but at what price? In 1994, at the request of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, speaker Lou Powers prepared a report warning Congress about the risk of increasing oil imports on America's security. This presentation will follow up on that report and also analyze some of the industry long-term forecasts and the government's 2005 energy outlook.
