Bed Building Project Community Service

The Need:

  1. Estimated 2-3 % of children have no bed (air mattress, couch, floor)
  2. Many mattresses lost in Hurricane Harvey have not yet been replaced!

Child “bedlessness” is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) has provided the solution. SHP is a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor. In order to accomplish the organization’s goals, volunteers are needed to sand, stain, assemble and deliver beds to families in need. Join the SPE-GCS Community Service Committee as we volunteer for this noble cause so that “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!” SHP will provide PPEs and tools needed for the project. Feel free to bring your own PPEs.
