Westside WEBINAR: Design and Execution of a High Rate Water Pack in a Deviated Offshore Gas Well
This presentation will describe a high rate water pack performed on a relatively long deviated interval in a shelf gas well. The well to be described involved a 420ft MD zone (2 x 120ft perforated intervals with a 170ft MD unperforated interval in between). The challenge was pumping above frac pressure / frac rate, while placing a competent annular pack. Since it was not possible to run a preferred diagnostic tracer log, bottomhole gauge data were used, together with a method used for horizontal openhole gravel pack analysis, to estimate the quality of the annular pack placement. The presentation will discuss the design, execution and post-job evaluation of the high rate water pack.
