Completions - GC518: Flow Assurance and Completion Design in 29,000-ft GOM Wells

Anadarko’s GC 518 (K2 North) deepwater subsea development project is located in Green Canyon Block 518 in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 175 miles south of New Orleans, in a 4100’ water depth environment. Challenging flow assurance and field development issues affected both well completion design and production operation strategies. This presentation will overview the subsea architecture, flow assurance issues, operability concerns, and completion design for the GC 518 project. The GC 518 subsea project consists of 3 subsea wells that will tieback to the Marco Polo TLP, which is approximately 8.5 miles away. The wells have been drilled, subsea construction is currently underway, and the completions (which will be the deepest completions in the GOM at ~28,500'' tvd) will start this summer.
