Come join the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Gulf Coast Section Drilling Study Group on Wednesday, April 20, for the annual Drilling Symposium.  Presentations and discussions will revolve around drilling-related advancements, technology gaps, lessons learned, organizations and communication, financing a startup company, and resource procurement and development.

Presenters will include Richard Mason (The Land Rig Newsletter),  Steve Johnson (CDX Resources), Dale Bradford (BHP Billiton Petroleum), Kevin Lacy (ChevronTexaco), Helge Haldorsen (Norsk Hydro), and Carl Sandlin (ExxonMobil Development Co.).

Entrance to the symposium, including snacks and lunch, is

  • $100 for pre-paid SPE members (through noon on April 15)
  • $125 for pre-paid non-SPE members and walk-ins

This event is the primary SPE-GCS Scholarship fundraiser for the Drilling Study Group. The SPE-GCS and its partners provide up to $100,000 per year in engineering scholarships to the local community.
