General Meeting: The US Energy Oil Boom - What’s Next?
ABSTRACT of Presentation
The US shale oil and gas boom has turned the United States the world’s largest importer of hydrocarbons into the world’s largest producer of crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. With the domestic market’s needs met, US crude energy exports have soared. Crude oil exports have gone from zero to 3mn b/d in just a few years and continue to grow as more pipeline capacity is built to the Gulf Coast. And fueled by advantaged fuel and feedstock, US refiners have become a major supplier of refined products to Latin America and the Atlantic Basin.
But how sustainable is the US shale revolution medium term? What are the headwinds facing the industry? And where are we likely to be five years from now?
