Software training for Members in Transition only. You must be a professional member of SPE not currently working for an employer to take this class.  No Walkins.

  • Summary: The course demonstrates making optimal maps, using the Kingdom software. The process of creating geologic maps involves three steps: Gridding, interpreting and communication. Students will review multiple gridding algorithms presently available to the interpreter, all of which will be used on a control data set. Additionally, students will review the use of Kingdom’s color bar and the creation/manipulation of color schematics
  • Prerequisites: 2d/3dPAK, EarthPAK or equivalent experience
  • Topics:
    • How to select a grid algorithm appropriate to the objective and input data
    • Intelligent parameter selection for grid workflows
    • Gridding for stratigraphic purposes
    • Gridding for structural purposes
    • Advanced investigations using grid–to–grid operations
    • The use of the Grid Tool Editor in the interpretation process
    • Selecting appropriate color bars
