ELP – Laser Drilling: Gas Well Drilling & Completions with High Energy Lasers

Industry experts in the 1960’s and 1970’s considered the use of photonic energy in well construction, however the technical application of lasers was dismissed as energy intensive and inefficient.  Their conclusions from 40 years ago continue to influence industry misperceptions of laser applications, despite massive developments in laser systems and applications. This presentation will review Gas Technology Institute’s laser applications research program for well construction and completion and discuss the advantages of high power fiber laser technology as a significant step forward in realizing initial downhole laser applications.

Dinner forum, the event will include a buffet style dinner, a mix and mingle with available adult drinks as well as the presentation followed by questions. For walk-ins, registration is $35.  Walk-ins will be accepted on a space available basis.  Please arrive early, walk-ins are seated on a first come/first serve basis.
