R&D Study Group – Panel Discussion: Frontiers in Production Chemistry (NOTE: We are meeting on Friday this month)

The hardware and software technologies utilized in the oil & gas industry are a highly visible form of innovation enhancing the exploration of reserves. The application of chemical technologies, throughout the upstream/downstream lifecycle, are a less visible however critical component in oilfield success. A major area of interest in oilfield chemistry is in the realm of production enhancing technologies having a direct impact on recovery, transport, refinement, etc…This panel discussion will focus on the chemical challenges facing the future needs of the oil and gas industry as it develops fields into the 21st century.  Topics will be discussed such as asset integrity in extreme conditions, scale and deposit control in deep and ultradeep water applications, separation technology in heavy crudes, and paraffin control in high pour crudes.
