PF&C Summer Lecture Series - Session V: "Semisubmersible FPS Design Considerations"

Session V of the Summer Series on “Floating Production Systems” is sponsored by INTECSEA and presents design considerations for semisubmersible floating production systems.

Semisubmersible floating production systems fit a particular field development niche for platforms in moderate to harsh environments, capable of supporting large payloads and capable of being towed-out with the topsides in place.  This presentation will give an overview of the features of a semisubmersible platform, a review of the important design considerations in setting the hull configuration, and a review of the steps required to develop the design of the moorings, risers, hull structure and marine systems.  This will end with a discussion of current trends and new technology in the design of semisubmersibles.

These sessions are perfect opportunities for either an introduction to Floating Production Systems for the engineer just starting in the industry, a refresher for the more seasoned individual, or just a great networking opportunity for those involved in this arena.  Each session is scheduled as a one (1) hour presentation followed by a thirty (30) minute Q&A period.
