Facilities & Construction - West Seno Project

The West Seno Field lies in the Makassar Strait, about 190 kilometers northeast of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The field was discovered in 1997. The West Seno field, in water depths of between 732 meters and 1,000 meters, is Unocal’s first deepwater development. The first phase of the project included the installation of a 28 slot TLP, a Floating Production Unit (FPU) and two 12-inch pipelines to an onshore terminal. FEED engineering was performed in Houston and an EPC contract was awarded to a consortium of contractors in July/August 2001. First production occurred in August 2003.  The presentation is an overview of the West Seno Phase 1 field facilities design, construction, installation and early operating experience.
