Bus Dev: Building a Liquids Rich GOM Shelf Portfolio

Join us at the Four Seasons Hotel as Mac Jensen of EPL and Glynn Roberts of NorthStar Offshore will update us on significant recent transactions and Company highlights focused in the Gulf of Mexico. BMO Financial Group, one of our corporate SPE Scholarship donors for 2012-2013, will lead off the discussion with a brief outline of their recent activities. The popular format of a Business & Social Networking hour, with complimentary Hors’ D’ Oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by an hour-long program, will begin at 5:00 pm in the Mezzanine.

The Gulf of Mexico shelf has offered abundant oil and gas E&P opportunities since the late 1940’s, as companies have successfully navigated the twin technical challenges of mastering complex subsurface geology, while managing the catastrophic risk of severe hurricanes. A not-uncommon view today is that the GOM Shelf has now been “fished out” by abundant 3D’s and too-many-to-count wellbores. Profitability and high returns are reserved to deepwater areas, or at depths and pressures that stretch the drilling engineers’ expertise.  Potentially refuting that view, EPL’s Mac Jensen and NorthStar’s Glynn Roberts will update us on recent successes acquiring older, mature Shelf assets, and reinvigorating them by attending to details of reservoir engineering, geology, drilling and operations. Our speakers will also share insights on what they see as their companies’ path forward as shelf opportunities abound for those willing to roll up their sleeves and optimize.

We welcome you to join us for this informative discussion, as well as the fellowship and networking of the popular Social Hour at 5:00 pm.
