SPEI - Cased Well Log Interventions for Production Management

Description

This ½-day course covers the basic tools for evaluating the presence of hydrocarbons down hole and through casing. It includes discussions on how cased hole log interventions can provide a dynamic reservoir picture critical to effective management of the reservoir, including locating oil and gas zones, evaluating their condition, and monitoring their current and historic production. Special equipment for log interventions in producing deviated and horizontal wells, such as coiled tubing, tractors, and fiber optic temperature and acoustic surveys, are also described.

Why You Should Attend

Participants will:

  • Learn cased hole log interventions for monitoring in-situ formation fluid saturations and fluid contacts
  • Learn how hydrocarbon-producing zones are identified using production, well integrity, and time-lapse logging techniques
  • Become aware of unusual flow patterns common to highly deviated and horizontal wells, and special interventions using coiled tubing, tractors, and fiber optic technologies
