YP September Luncheon: Unconventional Resources Exploitation Workflow : Innovation and Experience.

Unconventional Resources Exploitation : Innovation Meets Experience

Abstract:

This talk focuses on using a knowledge-based approach to integrated formation evaluation and well engineering throughout the unconventional resources exploitation workflow, driven by upfront geoscience understanding and further enabled by multidisciplinary solutions. It will illustrate the importance of Integrating technologies and interpreting available data to find the sweet spots and to ultimately optimize resource exploitation.

It will also explore solutions to rising costs—how to produce a well economically while maximizing production. Much of the development of unconventional plays, and shale in particular, has been based on the idea that success was a relatively direct process of drilling and hydraulically fracturing the reservoir. Several successful case studies will be highlighted to demonstrate the value of initial reservoir characterization and planning.
