This presentation will focus on Marathon's approach in determining optimum development for the Bakken Shale in North Dakota. Located in the Williston Basin in North Dakota, Montana and in the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the Bakken Shale formation is mainly an oil play with potential that rivals the largest finds in the U.S.

 

This presentation will discuss Marathon's Bakken results, trends in completion practices, data acquisition methods and well interference issues.  Key data and analysis used to construct reservoir models will be discussed and will provide insight towards Bakken recovery potential.
