The Future of Facilities and Construction Engineering

WHAT THE SPE CAN DO FOR YOU: SPE plays a key role in developing, and disseminating this knowledge and helping to assure that both new technology and indeed old technology is correctly understood and applied. As the first SPE Board Specialty Director of Facilities and Construction Engineering, Ken Arnold discusses current programming for this specialty as well as plans to further SPE’s role as the only technical society which provides the broad spectrum of technologies required for oil and gas facility design, construction and operation. This presentation starts with the history of facilities and construction engineering in the oil and gas industry and describes how the specialty has evolved with the changing needs of the industry.
