Description

This 1-day course covers the basic geological aspects and key properties of shale gas. It also reviews the status and characteristics of various shale gas plays, and the factors that control gas-in-place and productivity. Participants will learn how to collect, analyze and interpret critical data, to calculate reserve volumes and forecast production. They will also gain practical insight and learn techniques for quality control and due diligence. Other topics include:
 • The analysis of gas resources
 • How to optimize hydraulic fracture treatments
 • Forecasting production
 • Global shale gas developments
