Abstract:

 

This presentation provides an overview of Oxy’s Digital Canopy initiative to enable network connectivity from any place in the oil field (as is provided in office environments).  Oxy seeks to deploy wireless technologies in the oil field to enhance safety, increase productivity, assist in management of contract labor; and to establish a platform to enable other use cases.

 

Biography:

 

Arturo Bentin joined Oxy in Lima, Peru in 1978.  In his 30+ years career with Oxy, Arturo has held various IT technical and management positions of increasing responsibility in Peru, Canada, Colombia, Russia, Qatar; and the last 11 years, in the USA.  In his current role as the Manager IT Architecture & Projects, he is responsible for research of new and emerging technologies that would create value for Oxy, the development of information technology infrastructure and systems architecture, providing technology consulting; and management of large IT infrastructure projects.
