REGISTER NOW:  http://www.spe.org/career/educ_training/tc/BPT.php

Course Description

This course teaches systematic analysis and design procedures for pressure buildup and flow tests. Example applications focus on how to determine effective formation permeability, quantify damage or stimulation, estimate current average drainage area pressure. Gas well testing and horizontal well testing are included.

Course Contents

  • Background information
  • Semilog analysis methods
  • Type curves
  • Gases and multiphase flow
  • Diagnostic plot
  • Average drainage area pressure
  • Hydraulically fractured wells
  • Naturally fractured reservoirs
  • Horizontal wells
  • Effect of input data errors
  • Well test design

Who Should Attend

This is a basic course in well test analysis and design, suitable for engineers and physical scientists who have little if any background in well test theory or practice. The approach is directed primarily to applications rather than to development of theory.

CEUs

1.6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) awarded for this 2-day course.
