S&E: Water Resource Challenges in the Marcellus and Haynesville Shale Formations
The presentation will discuss the current situation surrounding water usage and treatment standards in the U.S. Shale gas plays, this will be focused in the Marcellus and the Haynesville where the highest levels of activity and potential have been forecasted. Regulations from Louisiana, Texas and Pennsylvania will be specifically discussed to demonstrate the challenges and incentives in these states for implementing water treatment and reuse onsite and offsite. Finally, the industry response to the regulatory and PR challenges surrounding frac water usage will be discussed.
