Digital Energy: Chevron Field Workforce Mgt with Mobilty Solutions
John Thibeaux, Project Manager in Chevron Global Gas will be discussing the Chevron Pipeline Field Mobility Innovation Lab Project. This project brought together the expertise and skills of Chevron's partners to demonstrate the usefulness of mobile technology for the Chevron Pipeline Company. Chevron's pipeline field workers work in very remote locations and are often disconnected from network information systems. This project developed a solution that enabled such workers to manage workflow tasks and safe work permitting processes and tap into corporate networks using hand held devices linked via 3 g networks, and interact with corporate maintenance ERP systems and other work planning enterprise systems, and submit permit applications with photos to the proper approvers at field offices. This project integrated Microsoft SharePoint, Formotus (InfoPath Forms on the Client), SAP Plant Maintenance, and Windows Mobile Devices. The project was a partnership between Microsoft, SAP, and LTI.
