PF&C: U.S. Climate Change and Energy Policy – Perspectives of a United States Congressional Fellow (Legislative Aide) and Impacts on the Offshore Ener

The evolving U.S. policies on energy and climate change will likely have major impacts and also create challenging opportunities for the offshore industry. This presentation will provide “in the trenches” perspectives of an ASME Congressional Fellow working for Congresswoman Heather Wilson (R-NM) on energy and climate change policy issues. The speaker will describe interfaces with congressional staff, lobbyists, think tanks and New Mexico constituents on a broad range of energy, resource access, and climate change issues and work in developing legislation for energy production in ANWR and the Outer Continental Shelf. He will also provide personal perspectives on where the U.S. is headed on energy security, climate change and renewable energy policies and offer suggestions on options for influencing policy and legislative developments.
